That's a wrap on 2022, Sporties!

We're spending the rest of the year celebrating with #GenerationSportsgirl and manifesting all the good things to come in 2023.

Now hit the music.

Bridget Hustwaite is author of the bestselling book "How to Endo: a guide to surviving and thriving with endometriosis" & host of podcast 'Figuring Out Thirty'.

We last partnered with her during Endometriosis Awareness Month in March 2021.

When did we last see you?
The last time I worked with Sportsgirl was in March 2021, when I released my first book “How to Endo”.

Where has life taken you since then?
All sorts of places, to be honest! My book “How to Endo” became a best seller within the first week of its release and has led to me receiving so many beautiful messages from people who have found it helpful in their endometriosis journey. I also turned thirty and launched my first podcast series called Figuring Out 30, exploring the chaos and confusion that comes with this new decade of life! 2021 was a hugely transformative year for me with some lows (heartbreak, four lockdowns!) but 2022 has provided plenty of highs and I am so happy with where I am at.

What are you most proud of yourself for?
I’m really proud of the way in which I have used my voice and platform to help others, especially when it comes to raising awareness and sharing accurate information about endometriosis. I strive to be the figure that I didn’t have when I was navigating my own endo diagnosis and to see how my advocacy has impacted people with endometriosis all around the world is so rewarding.

What is your greatest achievement?
Definitely writing a book! So much blood, sweat and tears goes into this kind of project and especially when it is about something so personal as a chronic illness. It can be hard to open up about hardships that not many people understand but as Morgan Harper Nichols once said, “Tell the story of the mountains you climbed. Your words could become a page in someone else’s survival guide.”

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Sadly, there’s a lot I would like to change, especially in terms of climate change, racism and war. In relation to my chronic illness advocacy, I would like to see worldwide healthcare become more accessible. I believe that healthcare is a human right and should not be dependent on where you live and what you earn.

What do you hope to achieve in the next year?
I want to continue using my voice and platform for good, but I also want to make sure that I’m looking after myself. I don’t have any specific professional goals set at this point and I’m totally fine with that because for me, success is happiness. As long as I’m happy, everything will figure itself out.

Where has life taken you since then?
I’ve been travelling, working on different projects and discovering new things about myself.

What are you most proud of yourself for?
I’m most proud of myself for never giving up, specially during Covid.

What is your greatest achievement?
Turning a simple idea into a powerful social movement.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I would want to spread more love in the world. You never know what someone is experiencing. Sometimes a little compassion goes along way.

Where has life taken you since then?

What are you most proud of yourself for?
I am most proud of myself for getting to the end of my fine art degree on time, and really just getting into my dream uni course!

What is your greatest achievement?
my greatest achievement is getting to where I am today!

If you could change once thing about the world, what would it be?

What do you hope to achieve in the next year?

Onella Muralidharan is a model, interior designer & diversity advocate.

You would have last seen her in Sportsgirl's 2022 GENERATION SPORTSGIRL campaign.

When did we last see you?
I last worked with Sportsgirl on their Winter 2022 Campaign!

Where has life taken you since then?
Since working with Sportsgirl,  I have been focusing on finishing my Interior Design degree as well as establishing my brand philosophy both as a model and designer. I have also worked with some pretty cool brands. Lastly, I've been reflecting on my own health and wellness and restarting the journey of improving my physical and mental health.

What are you most proud of yourself for?
I'm most proud of myself for seeing through my university degree (BA Interior Design) and pushing through my anxiety in order to cover come it and enjoy the opportunities life brings me!

What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is making an impact on our society through the values I am able to express through modelling. While it may only be a small impact, I feel happy that I am contributing to a much larger shift in our societal views, ultimately creating a better world for future generations.

If you could change once thing about the world, what would it be?
If I could change one thing about our world right now, it would be to remove the past conditioning as it continues to effect our society today, both in Australia and around the world.
A change in perceptions would ideally allow us to have a fresh start and implement better values that support not just one but all.
There are so many issues that linger in our every day lives around diversity, inclusion, body acceptance, accessibility, sustainability, climate change, Indigenous rights & representation & housing, just to name a few.  Imagine the world we could create if changing past ideals was an easier or more unified process?

What do you hope to achieve in the next year?
Next year I hope to dive into the modelling head-first  after a year of having to take a back seat due to my degree.  I plan to continue to inspire others by working with brands that push beauty standards. I’d also like to begin building my own Interior Design brand; Studio Onella.
I hope to impact society in a positive way by being involved in public conversation regarding matters of importance,  or simply inspiring others.

Grace Koh is a TV presenter, voice over artist & content creator.

We have previously collaborated with Grace in our 2020 BE THAT GIRL & 2021 GENERATION SPORTSGIRL campaigns.

When did we last see you?
I last worked with Sportsgirl in May 2021.

Where has life taken you since then?
Honestly? I haven't really gone anywhere. My life has been very consistent for the past few years and I've been loving how grounded I feel from that. I'm a voice over artist and social media content creator which means I can have extremely busy weeks and super slow weeks. I enjoy both and love that I've found balance with work and my personal life.

What are you most proud of yourself for?
I'm not one to shy away from a challenge. And I love that about myself. I'm proud of myself for being able to adapt to whatever situation I'm in and learn as much as I can about myself and others.

What is your greatest achievement?
Oooohh, there's a lot of material things that I could say for this. Perhaps when I first scored my dream job on television, booked my first voice over gig, when I bought an apartment, moved out of home or maybe when I was asked to be part of my first Sportsgirl campaign! Hahaha, it's hard to say. It's nice to think about those things but I think my greatest achievement is my mindset at the moment. I have a history of mental health and body image issues and although those invasive thoughts still peak through every now and then, I'm in a really great place at the moment. And that's honestly my greatest achievement. Feeling healthy does wonders!

If you could change once thing about the world, what would it be?
I think education and healthcare should be free worldwide. Wouldn't that be something?

What do you hope to achieve in the next year?

I've been trying to do this for a while.. But I'd love to do a year of not buying any brand new clothes. Thrifting or swapping only. But I am SUCH a consumer and love clothes and fashion so much. It's been a few months since I've shopped in store though so maybe this will be the year.
