Is linen blend better than 100% linen?

Neither is universally better, but a linen blend is easier for everyday wear. It keeps linen's breathable fabric feel and natural drape while creasing less. Every dress in this range uses a linen blend.

Linen fibres are strong but stiff, so fibres such as viscose soften the feel and help the fabric recover its shape. Pure linen still has a crisp finish many people love. How do you choose between a linen blend mini and a midi?

Choose a mini for hot days and casual plans, and a midi when you want coverage or a dressier finish. A mini dress puts more leg on show. A midi dress reads a touch sharper. Yes, go up if you're between sizes. Linen blend has almost no stretch, so a little extra room usually works better across sizes 4 to 18. The fabric also softens and relaxes with wear, so a generous fit can settle naturally.

Swing and column shapes usually sit true to size. Fitted tie-fronts and button-downs may benefit from sizing up through the bust or waist. A shift dress falls straighter, while a wrap dress gives you more adjustment.

How to wash and iron a linen dress

Wash your linen dress on a cold, gentle machine cycle. Keep dark colours separate for the first few washes, then line dry in the shade. Iron while slightly damp on a medium setting with steam.

Shake the dress out as soon as washing finishes, then hang it straight away. Leaving it in the basket can create deeper creases. Skip the dryer because high heat can set creases and shrink the fibres.
