The Future’s Our Creation is our platform in which we ask upcoming artists to create a piece which represents a future they would like to see. This month we are proud to have collaborated with Madi Mercer aka Ghostgum Designs on their piece Not Just One, But ALL.
Madi is a proud Wadawurrung person living and creating in Naarm. Their artistic practice stems from their Cultural identity, connection to themself, family, Country and Ancestors.
Not Just One, But ALL represents the natural systems that are at threat in our country and reminds us of the importance in caring for the land.
A future of Madi’s creation is one where land caring, sustainable living and our health and wellbeing are prioritised. It’s about reflecting on how Traditional Owners care for the land we have the privilege of living, working and playing on. They suggest supporting Country Needs People – an NGO which works with over 50 Indigenous partners to support and strengthen Indigenous Rangers and Indigenous Protected Areas across Australia.
