Founded in 2006 by sisters Rosie and Lucy Thomas, PROJECT ROCKIT started as school workshops to fight bullying by empowering young leaders. It’s now a thriving social enterprise, impacting over half a million youth across Australia and employing 70+ young leaders.
PROJECT ROCKIT highlights youth voices and collaborates with major social media platforms to boost global youth participation and safety.
We spoke to Ella from PROJECT ROCKIT and asked her a few questions.
What does 'Pushing Forward' mean to you?
For me, pushing forward means striving for change and progress through action.
What keeps you motivated to continue pushing forward for the causes that matter to you?
I'm motivated to continue pushing forward because I want to live in a world where people feel safe, respected, and hopefully celebrated!
How can we support each other better as a community to push forward for change?
We can support each other to push for change by uplifting our mates, normalising conversations about growth, and learning from other people's lived experiences.
How can we get more young people involved in pushing forward for change?
We can get more young people involved in pushing forward by respecting young people, validating young experiences, listening, and leading by example.
What makes collective action so powerful for Generation SG?
There is such power in numbers, when we work together our change can be grand, sustainable and positive for all. Generation SG can have a big impact, one to be proud of.
