Today and everyday, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the beautiful lands throughout Australia, and the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin nation and Wallumattagal peoples of the Dharug nation on which our corporate head offices are located and where we have the privilege to work, play and gather.

We pay our respect to Elders past and present and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of First Nations people and communities today and beyond.

Through headspace, we are proud to have collaborated with four, young First Nations artists on the design of our reusable canvas tote bags. This projects contributes to the wider pillars outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and our commitment to listening to, being guided by and amplifying the voices of those who were historically marginalised.

The artists, Holly, Siena, Stefanie and Tanaya participated in workshops where they were mentored by the headspace team and up and coming Arabana and Kokatha artist Mali Isabel. The workshops explored themes of mental health and social and emotional wellbeing and formed the basis of the inspiration behind their artwork. Each piece was brought to life in the artist’s own individual artistic style and reflects their personal journey.

A note from our mentor, Mali Isabel:

“I feel very proud of the collection of artworks we’ve created together. We became a little family in such a short time and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be a mentor and pass my knowledge onto the next generation”.

Find out more about each artist and don’t forget to head into store or purchase a bag online. $2 from every purchase is donated directly to headspace to help them continue to support the mental & physical health of young people across Australia.
