PASTEL STREAKS...LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

    Lovelies,

I've noticed a new trend is a-coming! Pastel streaks...
Being a brunette I can't really share in this trend (at least I don't think so) but then again, I guess only blondes can anyway...hmmm...
ANYWAY! What do you guys think of it? Personally, I think it looks like a dye job gone wrong, mixed in with a bit of swimming in chlorine waters...but that's just me :)

But then again I haven't fully decided where I stand yet. Look forward to your opinions. x

From the moment we first saw those blue streaks on the catwalks of Proenza Schouler and Giles Deacon way back in 2009, it was pretty clear it was going to be a huge look. I loved it, but was a bit unsure about it for myself, being brunette, so it took AGES for me to come around to it, but I'm glad I did. Mine was an Abbey Lee-inspired bright pink, which has faded to a pink-ish orange, and I'm really happy with it.

(This is probably the most accurate picture of its colour right now: http://notsonaked.blogspot.com/2010/05/faq.html)

Oh Coco your hair looks amazing, so is your blog. I have seen this look look both done really good but also really bad. I think it looks great on the model above with blonde hair, and on alot of the catwalks I have seen. I have also seen a few people in the streets of Melbourne that didn't quite nail it. So in a nutshell I think It depends on the person and colour put in x

ehh i like the streaks better than the colouring at the bottom, its fun and cute, but i don't think i could pull it off in an everyday kind of way, even though my hair is blonde (: very nice for editorials (did anyone see the hair in nylon?) and stuff though,
my favourite kind of pastel hair would have to be this...

I think the hair trend washed in along with the neoprene and "sports" inspired looks at the **** end of our Summer, slowly filtering it's way into the mainstream. In the editorials I've seen where the model is brunette it's usually blue or green streaks or ends. Personally I found that pink looks more purple in brunette hair. And for those unsure of this trend, buy washout coloured hair spray from Go Lo - cheap and chic.

I got pink put in the ends of my hair (i'm a brunette) just after I saw it on Abbey lee in Vogue. It was so bright (like neon) when I first got it but now it's about the same shade as Coco's! I really like it and I've definitely been seeing more of it lately, like yesterday actually. I had wanted to dye my hair all pink but I knew regrwoth would suck and it probably wasn't going to suit me to have it dyed all over, so this was a great compromise!
