    Hello ladies,

I just want to know why Sportsgirl is so expensive. Wouldn't it be more logic to be a bit cheaper so people buy more? I'm not saying Target prices :P But maybe so it's not nearly $300 for a coat. :)

    Just curious. x

    I agree with dance_like_me!
Don't get me wrong, I love sportsgirl but I just can't afford it!
I mean, I occasionally splurge on something from here, but I just can't afford to be shopping here in tough financial times like these.
Maybe I would feel differently if the quality was amazing, but I have found the quality to be not quite up to scratch and I have had quite a few things break on me and to be poor in general. For example: the sole of my heels has separated from the shoe, the hem of one of my dresses has come down because it hasn't been sewn properly and I have had 2 necklaces and a headband break on me!
And I haven't been throwing them on the ground or doing anything drastic, it's just general wear.
Surely I'm not the only one that has had something poorly made from here and I believe the prices should reflect the quality. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that's going to break the very next day.
So I ask the same question: why the sky-high prices? The quality is much the same as any other chain store (cotton on, supre) and it's not like sportsgirl is a designer brand, so what justifies the prices?

    Hey guys!

Thanks for your feedback :) Lots of work and love goes into bringing Aussie Sportsgirls the hottest bang-on trend fashion - from sourcing fabrics from overseas and giving you designs that you can't get anywhere else in the country, and some of our prices reflect this. But no matter how much you've got in your wallet, there's something for every price when you walk into a Sportsgirl store, from a new nail polish to a statement jacket!

Hope this helps! I've passed your feedback along to the HQ team as well :)

I can't say I have never had anything break or wear badly from Sportsgirl, I still have pretty much every piece of clothing/accessory etc I ever bought from Sportsgirl.
    Sorry to break the chain!
I feel as though, the price points of Sportsgirl are mostly fairly reasonable and affordable. It's understandable if dresses are say $100 - $200 and jeans are $100- $180 because to me that is what I would expect to pay. Although, I do find some Tops are a little overpriced,if they're a bit more dresser and if a lot of work has gone into it sure the price would go higher but sometimes the prices seem a little unreasonable e.g. a basic long sleeved top for $79.95. But then again when you think about it, a good bulk of Sportsgirl's products go on sale with at least 15% - 20% the original price and sometimes they are marked down even further,it's amazing what you can find that goes on sale in Sportsgirl.
And the quality of Sportsgirl is definitely far,far better than most chain stores e.g. (Valleygirl,Supre,Cotton On,Jay Jays - especially Supre it's like comparing chalk and cheese!) .
And although Sportsgirl is not a designer store, the price points shouldn't be too small as it would make the products seem too "cheap" and of low quality and I wouldn't buy it.
I like that Sportsgirl is somewhat unique compared to other chain stores, that target a young audience. It's what makes them different.

I disgree with Jackieheartssportsgirl , you can can good quality jeans for $70 and under, and the valleygirl dresses are great quality and are really non pricey! But i do agree with the rest that Sportsgirl should take the prices down to under $100 because not everyone can afford the clothes.

For the jeans I was just saying that was pretty reasonable to be asking for that price as most jean brands ie. Levi's and other brands like Bettina Liano ask for a price like that. I know you can get good quality jeans for $70 and under cause I own a couple of pairs that costed around that much. The prices of everything at Sportsgirl vary all the time, as I said a lot of things go on sale and that doesn't even have to be when the financial year is ending. Nearly everytime I go to Sportsgirl there are heaps of great things on sale. But anyway this is just my opinion.

I do have to admit the prices have gone up in recent times but if you love it you will pay it or find some way too thats what fashion is all about.
Sportsgirl are very on trend and always have the latest styles straight off the runway they also follow fad fashion that dont last long so i say research current major trends that carry on from season to season and buy key peices of what you can afford or splurge on ie- blazer, check shirt, ankle boots, berets that way you can wear them year in and out and you will be getting your value for money.

I too agree, its been a bit overpriced the last couple of seasons, its more the tops that annoy me! Like $99.95 for a top.. come on...

I must say the shoes this season are to die for and worth every $$!
