I just have to get this off my chest ... Whilst I understand the laws are the laws and need to be abided by, I have a massive issue with the new mobile phone usage rules that will apply as of Monday. I am more than happy to use hands free/speaker phone whilst I am driving (I am a fully licenced driver so this is legal for me), but now the phone is not even allowed to sit in your lap and even if you are caught holding your phoen whilst not using it you will still be fined. Now whilst I am not too sure how often I would really be sitting there holding my whilst not using it I cannot comprehend this law as it is legal to smoke whilst driving!!!! I personally don't smoke but quite a few of my friends and my dad do. (I am not out too attack smokers mind you, this is just the most appropriate example) When they are smoking whilst driving one of their hands is completely occupied by the cigarette just as it would be by holding a mobile. So could someone please assist me in understanding how it is ok to smoke a cigarette whilst driving however holding a not in use phone will get you fined?

lol! I have often thought that smoking is a bit dangerous while driving - what if you dropped it? It is on fire!!

So love the fact that I never have to drive anymore, I never really enjoyed it. So much more relaxing being a passenger on public transport :-)
