Hey girls,

I would love a bit of advice and to hear any stories any of you might have. I have a really close girlfriend who always buys clothes & accessories i do, also just copy's my style in general. At the start i found it flattering, but lately it's getting to be a bit much. I loved that i didn't dress like anyone else but me before!
Anyways i don't want to be mean or anything, i just want to be the only one around that dresses like me.....sounds a bit silly but any ideas? x

Hahahhahaha I sooo know what you are talking about!! I had a friend (don't worry we aren't not friend's cause of this haha) who used to do the same thing. Every time I would wear something the next time I saw her she would have the exact same thing, or very similar! One day we turned up wearing basically the same thing and it was not one of those 'OMG we are wearing the same thing.... how fun are we' sort of moments for me haha!!

It's not silly what you are feeling it's perfectly natural, I get really funny about similar things, but unfortunately I don't think that there is much that you can do about it. Maybe try and suggest things that you think really would look great on her that are different to things you would buy (not in a bitchy choose something hideous for her to wear sort of way haha)

I find it hard to think of those sort of things as being flattering too I find it really frustrating, cause I think having individual style is really important, and most importantly not everything suits everyone!
However, I think that when you really look at the situation as hard as it may be to admit... she obviously really likes what you wear and how you wear it otherwise she wouldn't be doing it, so it really is a compliment just a hard one to take!

I have found a bandaid solution i have been buying alot of vintage lately...that way there in no way she can copy haha
I guess i am guilty of style stealing too i practically live in Rachel Bilson and Nicole Ritchie's wardrobe. :)
