WHAT'S IN YOUR HANDBAG?

I am trying to put an end to my habit of ALWAYS having a handbag with me wherever I go. So, what I would like to know is:
a) What do you usually have in your bag?
b) Do you think a bag is necessary?
c) Do you think people do actually look better without bags?

At the absolute minimum I need wallet, keys, phone, lip balm, glasses, sunglasses, Oyster card - there's no way that stuff can fit in my pockets!
That's not to mention mirror, comb, mints, diary, notebook, AtoZ, water bottle!
I definitely think you need a wardrobe of bags to match different outfits, then it is integral to your outfit and doesn't look funny at all!

i prefer small bags with a strap, rather than bigger bags with shorter straps.
i just bring what is nessessary such as..

cards that ill need such as eftpos, id and any voucher cards i might need if going shopping, roll on deoderant, tiny powder makeup thing, coin purse, phone, keys.

As I too wear glasses, but not all of the time, it's really hard to not have a bag to store them in. I think bags are one of the most amazing things to purchase cause unlike shoes (which I am a size large 10-11 in) and clothing you can always (well most of the time) find something that will suit you.

Other than going for a walk or the likes I always have a handbag!!

Plus the usually have pockets on most things that they wear.. I guess..

A phone, their keys, and their wallets ( which, you'll notice, are always smaller than ours ! :) ) so it would fit in a pocke.. plus, as you said they always have pockets, and they are often bigger ! haha and YES, they love to put their stuff in their girlfriend's bag :)
I looooove handbags, I'm changing mine according to what I'm wearing.. I think it's really important in an outfit because it "finishes" it :) And in it, always : my phone, a waterbottle, a pen & a notebook, a mirror, a pair of shoes ( just so I can change if the ones I'm wearing hurt haha), my wallet, a lipbalm, a magazine ( to read when I'm bored in the train or on the bus :) ) and ... yeah, A LOT of stuff, not always so useful .. :)
