Try Sugo in Malvern, it used to be owned by the guys that started Rococo's and has great food.

Rumi in Brunswick is an awesome turkish restaurant.

Hellenic Republic in Brunswick is owned by Masterchef's George Colombaris and is the cheaper version of his city restaurant The Press Club.

Have you guys had tapas at Movida?? It is the best!!! Not sure about the $$, as I went there a while ago - I don't live in Melbourne, just went there last time I was in town and it was soooo good! Hot waiter, too.

It might just be because it’s local to me but I love Alphabet City Café in Northcote. It’s the cutest hippy café in the Westgarth strip of Hight Street. If you’re in the area you should definitely check it out.
    98/100 High St
    Northcote VIC 3070
My real favourite restaurant is the Stokehouse in St Kilda. Although I don’t think it’s the cheapest place.

movida is such a great restaurant. I went there with some firends, theres a bit of a wait to get in if you dont pre book but the food is so worth it. The staff are so helpful and friendly. If you go with friends and split the price then its not too pricey

    I love
Shabu Shabu Buffet - Hot Pot, Melbourne CBD $25 PP. Pretty good atmosphere. It's like Sushi train and the food goes around the conveyor belt. You just grab the platter you want and pop the food in your hot pot

Maedaya - Richmond. - You gotta go for the upstairs dining area. You're given a small BBQ grill. Order platters of food (very cheap as well), plenty of sauces to choose from and DELICIOUSSSSSS!
