Too early for summer shopping?

Only a few weeks ago I was laughing in my friends face because she wanted to go shopping for shorts even though it was freezing cold and we were both wearing jackets. But recently all I can think about is new season and therefore spring/summer clothes. Maybe I’m lacking in vitamin D but I keep buying sunnies and skirts when it’s 14 degrees outside and what I really need to buy is a new jacket. Is buying summer clothes now a good investment? I’m worried I’ll be sick of them by the time the weather actually clears up.

it's a great investment! i always make the mistake of buying clothes at the end of the season coz there are the sales, but get about two wears out of them before the weather changes, which means i pay about $40 for each wear! might be a bit early right this second tho, maybe start purchasing start of september.

that would be smart to start buying clothes at the start of september but i'm just so excited by the new season clothes. i went window shopping the other day and as i described it too a friend i was comatose with happiness at the possibilities for summer fashion. Another bad thing about buying clothes this early in the season is that i have no idea where fashion is going to go for the season yet. so any purchases i make now might not go with the look i've decided i'm going for later.

yeh definitely decide later. just because the stores have decided what they think is in doesnt mean it's what you want to wear. plus some stores go out on a limb before the start of the season then change their mind when they see what's actually in and selling. at the moment i'm feeling denim shorts and bright singlets but that's just me

mm i sportsgirl is the only store i've seen that is going in a certain direction. most other stores are just starting where they left of with the kind of boho look that was popular the last two summers. Winter style was such a step away from that though (in my opinion) that anything could be in this summer. Which i guess is another good reason not to start mass purchasing warm weather clothing.

Yeah, I never know what I'll want to wear in a few months' time. Trends grow on me.
I am always hesitant to buy stuff too early, because I'm worried that later on I'll see a different version of the same thing that I like better!

I go winter/summer shopping whatever season it is. If it's nice, why not buy it! haha.

I have a really short attention span for fashion. So if I buy something and can’t wear it for weeks or possibly months because of the weather, I’m probably going to be bored of it by the time I can wear it. which is probably at the heart of my problem.
