hey Sportsgirl!
i recently received the Sportsgirl mini sewing machine as a gift and i think it is so cute, but im having trouble with the users manual, which is a little bit unclear and i cant seem to find anything online that can help me, in particular with how to thread the machine, as the picture and instructions are a bit confusing!
I'd love to get a reply from Sportsgirl about whether I could take it into any Sportsgirl store and they would be able to give me some more specific instructions or if the shop assistants might somehow know how to use it?
Thanks!
Hi lovely, sorry for the long wait for a reply, we have been chasing down these instructions for you and have e-mailed you with them! Hope this helps. xx
Hi Sportsgirl! We also recently received a mini-sewing machine and cannot for the life of us figure out how to use it properly. We are managing to sew a little bit before the machine stops and then all the thread comes out of the material. The manual does not make any sense to us. Would you be able to forward clear instructions on correct threading and knotting procedures? We are dying to use this! Thanks for your help!!
Sure thing MrsBlister, we will e-mail you across what we have managed to find too! Sorry that you're having trouble with it and we hope the instructions we send will help you. xx
Thanks for the email, but I'm afraid that it didn't help me. I already had a copy of the instructions that you emailed, but they do not make any sense. If you have a look, you can see that they are written in extremely poor English and, because they illustrations are so poor, the instructions leave us none the wiser. For example, the instructions with knotting are "1. First draw the last line thread in the threader. 2. Draw the remained thread adversely through threader." But there is no indication of what the 'threader' is and I don't know what they mean by drawing the thread 'adversely'. The entire thing is baffling.
I appreciate the photos that you sent to indicate how to thread the machine. Unfortunately, that mini-sewing machine in your photos is a different model to the one we have. If you look at the picture of the machine in the instructions that you sent and the model in the photos, you will see that they are quite different machines. So again, we again, we are no further ahead.
On a final note, the machine now refuses to turn on. I have changed the batteries and tried to follow the confused 'troubleshooting' instructions, but the mini-sewing machine appears to be completely dead. I feel very upset about the entire matter. The machine was a Christmas present for my daughter from my mother and we have not been able to use it at all. My mother did not keep the receipt, so we can't take it back for a refund. Effectively, we have a sewing-machine-shaped door stop. I didn't expect that the machine would last forever, but I did expect that we would get at least some use out of it before it died. Have we just been unlucky, or is this product just a dud for everyone?
Hi MrsBlister, we appreciate your feedback on this one and have passed this onto the team. It does sound like you have a faulty one on your hands, best thing to do would be to drop into your nearest store for a refund. We're sorry for the inconviences that the sewing machine has caused you! xx
