Dress me up, dress me down… this season girls-in-the-know are borrowing the best from the boys and giving it a dressed-up twist for an effortless look just perfect for long autumn days! We’ve raided the BF’s wardrobe for check shirts, leather boots and rough ‘n’ tumble fabrics, and given them a girlie makeover with soft lines, loosely layered shapes and luxe embellishments. Think Coco Chanel meets street style – we’re talking army green anoraks with floral skirts, your best bling with I-don’t-care-hair, ladylike boucle and motorcycle gloves. Dresses are retro in ‘40s shapes, bold shoulders are going strong across everything from jackets to knits, and we just can’t get enough cosy knits as we wave goodbye to the summer sun. Structure is loose and flowing and the mood is carefree: it’s all about fun, fun, fun and looking effortlessly chic while you’re doing it!
Brighten up your autumn wardrobe with colour that pops! We’re feeling the love for all things purple – the perfect partner to wooly grays, it’ll amp up the volume to your cool weather combos. As skies turn gray it’s all about deeper textures, luscious layers, a more subdued palette, and of course lots of touchable knits. Mix up those monochromes with pools of lovely lilac, add some patterned tights, top with a gorgeous hat, pop on some heeled boots – add autumn leaves and you’re good to go!

These days there’s a lot more that goes into being a superstylist than simply creating killer outfit combos. In fact many of today’s top stylists are actually spending more time in front of the camera than behind it.
Killer accessories are the quickest and easiest (and hey, let’s face it, the cheapest!) way to re-vamp your outfits and inject personality into even the plainest black dress. And get this: for some lucky and talented people, finding and buying accessories is an actual job. For which they are paid.
