Warm weather, good food, carefree fashion - there are many reasons to love Brisbane and here to share more is fashion blogger Kaitlyn from "Modern Legacy".
Hey Kaitlyn, tell us a bit about yourself and "Modern Legacy".
My name is Kaitlyn and I'm 23. My occupation would best be described as ‘freelance fashion writer’, though I am constantly getting involved in new projects in all areas of fashion so maybe just ‘fashion freelancer’ will do. My blog is all about showcasing my personal style, from documenting my outfits to detailing my current obsessions!
Tell us about your personal style.
Clean, classic and minimalist, but a little eclectic and almost always with a hint of print. I can switch from wearing a top-to-toe black outfit one day to a bright shirt and printed pant extravaganza the next – it depends on my mood. Accessories are usually always kept to a minimum, as I love to let the individual pieces of an outfit speak for themselves.

What do you like best about living in Brisbane?
I was born in Toowoomba (country girl alert!), however I have spent all of my adult life in Brisbane. I love Brisbane’s relaxed vibe and beautiful warm weather – makes for very easy living – and dedicated food and fashion hubs like James Street in Fortitude Valley are some of my favourite places to be.
How would you describe "Brisbane style"?
Brisbane style is incredibly relaxed and carefree. Shorts and sandals reign supreme here for much of the year. We can certainly be stylish and fashion-forward of course, though it will always be with a sense of fun and a relaxed attitude – no one tries too hard.
What are your favourite local blogs?
I will always love Harper and Harley, Oracle Fox, Inside In Inside Out and Heart and Bleecker. The first three are all Queensland-based (or once were), while the last is based in Perth but I had to add it in there – I love that blog to death.
If you missed our previous interviews with bloggers Geneva (A Pair and a Spare) and Bianca (Il Etait Une Fois), make sure you check them out here and here!
