Ah, spring! We’re SO ready for a hit of sunshine, the chance to ditch the stockings and overcoats, and bring on a little fashion frivolity! And nothing gets you in the mood for new season fashion like spring Fashion Weeks.

With a rep as the country’s two style centres, Sydney and Melbourne are both gearing up to give us an overload of fashion goodness – with Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival kicking off yesterday and the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week set to launch on August 30th.

Over the next week RSFW is set to showcase collections from top Oz design talent, the likes of Ginger and Smart, Fernando Frisoni, Zambesi and Kate Sylvester all whipping out their sartorial wonders at group shows at Sydney Town Hall. The Fest is also presenting a bevy of fashion presentations, exhibitions, launches, after parties, music and cultural events - check out the jam-packed schedule here.

Meanwhile, back in Melbourne…the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week team is getting ready for the next week’s launch, with the Ruby Rose as ambassador and drop-dead gorge model Lucy McIntosh as the face of the fest. We’re psyched to see that over 70% of the designers and labels on the Official Program are Melbs-based. Yay for homegrown! Limedrop and Trimapee will debut on the runway and bigwig Collette Dinnigan is also on the lineup.

We can’t wait to see both cities’ take on spring fashion, and have one more reason to be excited for the return of sunny days!
