The fashion world is getting excited for the all-out style extravaganza that is the L'oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival! We give you the lowdown on to stay sartorially prepared for one of the hottest weeks on the fashionista’s calendar!

1. Be bold. This is no time to fly under the radar: get creative with your outfit without going OTT. That statement jacket that hasn’t had quite the right occasion? Pull it out! Those teetering heels? Yup!

2. Be warm! It’s Melbourne. ‘Nuff said. We recommend a snugly warm winter jacket, wooly snood or cosy beret.

3. In the bag: the list of Fashion Fest essentials is large, and so is your bag! Runway bloggers will need their laptop to nab “first to blog” status, street photogs obv. need that SLR, writers will be lost without a notepad, and you’ll want makeup for touch ups, bandaids for feet (see point 1)... you get the drift!

4. Picture perfect makeup is a must. Because who knows which photographer will want to snap you in your Festival best!
