It's pretty much impossible not to be charmed by Aussie hip hop duo KillaQueenz' infectious, boundless, colourful style. We asked the fashion rebels for their hot tips on summer festival fashion as they get ready to blow audiences away at the Good Vibrations Festival.
Hailing from Uganda and Belize, Kween G and Belizean Bombshell draw inspiration from their respective homelands to bring a fresh sound to the Oz hip hop scene - and we're marking them as a "must see" thanks to a reputation for energetic live shows, dance-friendly tunes and cooler than cool style!
For those on the Good Vibrations Festival circuit who have never seen you perform, how would you describe the KillaQueenz live show?
We bring that brand new flavor! Expect to hear some head banging beats to get you dancing and some jaw-dropping lyrics.
You’ve got a reputation for getting the crowd going- what’s the key to a really great performance?
When you show love to your audience you get the love back, the music is always an important part of the show as well as our interaction with the ladies and gentlemen we love to make everyone feel welcome!
How would you describe your on-stage look?
It changes from show to show, but one thing we stick with is bright colours. Sometimes we focus on our fresh kicks and street look and sometimes we bring the sexi out!
What one fashion item can’t you live without?
Kicks so we can Kick in The Back Door!
For all the festival goers out there, what are your best tips for summer festival fashion?
How about we stay away from looking identical to one another. Make an effort to wear something that will stand out like cool patterns that’s how you get some good vibes!
What’s the one “must have” item for everyone at a summer music fest?
Stunner shades.
What advice would you give females who want to break into the MC game?
Listen to the best MCs who have something real to share and practice your flow. Keeping lyrics book always helps, stay confident and remember “Woman Run Tings”!
