My bag has items totalling $

After 365 days of wearing the same black dress styled in a multitude of ways and with almost $100,000 raised for Indian school children the Uniform Project is complete.
Way back in July 2009 less than a month after the new Sportsgirl website hit the interwebs we blogged about Sheena Matheiken’s quest to wear the same black dress for 365 days to raise money to support the Akanksha foundation. The money raised through donations to the project would directly fund uniforms and education expenses of children living in Indian slums.
Sheena wore the same black dress for 365 days styled in a multitude of ways as a reminder of the school uniforms Sheena herself used to wear as a child growing up in India. In fact in the super cute Uniform Project picture book video below you can actually fast forward through every single one of the 365 outfits and watch as a simple idea transforms into one that has meant that an extra 260 Indian Children will be given the opportunity and means to go to school. Simply click on the below image to watch it:
And while the first year of the Uniform Project has wrapped up – Sheena assures us that she and the rest of the Uniform Project team will be back with a new and exciting project to continue to inspire us. Who said that you can’t change the world!
