Operation Nice assignment: Leave an old book somewhere public with a note that says: “Free Book!” If you want to add a nice message as well, go for it!
AMANDA HAMILRON:

"I went on a road trip to Byron Bay with my boyfriend Adam, and along our way I decided to purchase the 'Twilight' series. I read the first one and was captivated by the emotions of the book.
I decided that afternoon to visit a few retro/vintage shops, a bookshops and an Internet cafe in Byron (as well as taking time to get a delicious ice-cream) and had an email from Sportsgirl... I jumped on to the Sportsgirl website and found this article called Operation Nice. I read through and thought how lovely it would to find a nice book that you could take home with you and read for free... as the saying goes, nothing is for free!
I was so inspired that I took my first Twilight book up to the Byron Bay park and left it with a note saying 'I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did'. My boyfriend and I left the book on the top of the park lookout (as in the pictures) and was about to take pictures of the book on the bench when an elderly lady picked it up. She read the note and carefully picked up the book to read the back. After 5 good minutes of looking around she placed the book back down with the note and left... I was surprised but obviously the book wasn’t for her.
We decided to leave as there were too many tourists around. We went for a swim at Tallos Beach (about 10 minutes from where we left the book) and decided to go back after an hour... When we arrived we went back up to the bench and finally someone had taken it. My boyfriend looked quite pleased with himself and we both felt a sense of happiness (as much as that does sound cliché). I only hope whoever picked it up liked it as much as I did :)"
Operation Nice Entry:
MICKELA PINTO
Today I went to my old primary school where a friend and I did some work with the kindy kids and teachers. My friend and I helped with Christmas wrapping, painting and cleaning out cupboards so things are more easily accessible. We then went to the upper primary and did some cleaning to help them be prepared before they go off for holidays. It was great fun. Afterwards we felt really happy to know that they won't be needing to think about doing much things before the end of break. Thanks for the encouragement Sportsgirl!
