It's official: the all-round retro loveliness of the Polaroid camera is back! And all thanks to people power. Awww. Heart=warmed.
There's something magical about Polaroids. In the old school days before digi-cams, they were the coolest way to point and shoot - and who can forget that 15 seconds to 2 minutes of suspense while you waited for the film to develop to see how dorky you looked?
Tactile, nostalgic, character-filled and with a look all of their own, there's nothing quite like a Polaroid photo, and that's why there were sobs all-round when the age of digital cameras saw the iconic company go bust.

In the 2000's Polaroid completely stopped production of the much-loved instant camera as well as its film, so Polaroid-lovers were forced to stockpile film wherever they could find it, paying up to a hefty $1.70 for each exposure - meaning every shot had to count!
That didn't stop photographers all over the world continuing the creatviity and working to save Polaroids. People like The Impossible Project, a bunch of workers from the closed film-making company in the Netherlands, who worked to re-start production of analogue film for vintage Polaroid cameras. Thanks to their efforts, they proved that there's still interest and demand for the film, and Polaroid (now owned by Summit Global Group) were listening!
Earlier this month they announced they're bringing back the original Polaroid One, the most popular model of the instant camera, as well as a digital version - and the film will be made (with love!) by the Impossible Project! Set to go on sale by the middle of 2010, we can't wait to show our Polaroid love!
