NZ born, Aussie based illustrator Sarah Larnach does magical things with watercolour and ink – it’s no wonder she’s responsible for all of electro pop singer-songwriter Ladyhawke’s artwork.
Her stylish illustrations and paintings instantly became a key part of Ladyhawke’s visual identity - setting the mood for her website, album and music, as well as being heavily featured in the video for Ladyhawke’s single My Delirium.
If we weren’t such fans we’d be jealous: as well as the Ladyhawke gig, the talented artist’s dreamy illustrations have appeared in exhibitions at the likes of the Monster Children Gallery in Sydney and Uber Gallery in Melbourne, as well as publications including the 2008 book Nobody Told Me There’d Be Days Like These by Amanda Maxwell.
As if this weren’t enough for her resume, she also spins tunes under the alias DJ Spandex. Armed with a Diploma of Visual Arts, Sarah’s works mainly involve watercolour and ink on paper, but have also included photography and video. It’s no surprise that Sarah says music is one of her biggest influences – but words can only say so much: sit back, press play and enjoy the perfect combo of music and art as you check out the video Ladyhawke’s My Delirium:
